What is cupping?

Suction is applied to the skin with the use of cups. The suction creates negative pressure that promote stimulation of the skin, muscles and connective tissue. This increases blood circulation which promotes cell repair and removal of metabolic waste. It is also great used alongside massage to help relieve muscle tension and can help with the improvement of mobility.

Types of Cupping

Stationary Cupping – Is where you leave the cups in place for up to 20 minutes and then remove. Stationary cupping may leave cupping marks.

Gliding Cupping – Is mainly used alongside a massage treatment. With the use of a massage balm the cups are sealed to the skin and then slide over areas of fascial tension or poor circulation.
