Manual Lymphatic Drainage

What is manual lymphatic drainage?

This is so much more than just a massage – It’s an immune system wake-up call!

Manual lymphatic drainage is a sequence of rhythmic, non- invasive techniques using light pressure to promote the movement of lymphatic fluid (lymph). The sequence of strokes follows the direction of lymph flow towards regional lymph nodes. The lymph nodes are where the filtering and purifying of lymph fluid happens. The nodes also where ‘T’ & ‘B’ cells are produced, which are our immune system heroes. By improving the function of your lymphatic system you are improving your cardiovascular system too (as they are linked together).

Treatable conditions

Optimising the function of the circulatory and lymphatic system can have a powerful effect on the body and can be used to treat:

Immune system function
Stress reduction
Post-surgical swelling
Fibromyalgia
Edema
Sinusitis
Chronic pain
Rheumatoid arthritis
Digestive issues
Sport recovery
Chronic fatigue
Acute sport injuries

Please note that some conditions are not suitable for treatment as increased lymph flow can be detrimental. I’m happy to discuss this further with you.
